The de Havilland Educational Trust has appointed Mr Ian Oliver as its new Chairman. Ian has had an interest in vintage aviation from a young age and has owned a number of vintage aircraft including a Thruxton Jackaroo. He is a flying instructor at the Cambridge Flying Group where he originally learnt to fly Tiger Moths and where he has been instructing since 2000. Ian takes over from Nigel Lemon who has stepped down after his second period in the chair.
Ian is supported in his role by Adele Stephenson, newly appointed as Deputy Chairman. Adele retired following an extensive international flying career as an airline pilot, flying instructor and air taxi pilot. She was also the Chairman of the Amy Johnson Memorial Trust for many years.
